Guest guest
Thank you Lou for your post. I have been noticing that my eyes seem drier lately and burn like when you have a fever. I didn't even think that we are also drying up our eyes beside the sinuses and other areas. I hate antibiotics also. Cheryl Burton ncicheryl@... need help Hi, Eight days ago, I wrote to this group via the website in order to began a new topic. It was early in the morning. I was feeling all alone in the world suffering with my latest asthma episode due to grass, nettle, ragweed and the air quality alert days. I have yet to see my message posted. Every time I use the new topic list, my message never shows up on the digest. What am I doing wrong? Along with my venting comments concerning having this asthma disease, I was very upset and needed help choosing a new dishwashing detergent. My husband just turned on the dishwasher, not realizing I was still in the living room. I always have to hide out during the duration the dishwasher runs, due to the fragrance/scent. We use the Great Value Brand By Wal Mart. It has the least scent though, it's lemon and it really stirs my asthma up. Does anyone in the group know of any dishwasher detergent that is unscented or fragrance free? Now I have a new topic today and I don't know how to post it to be included in the digest. Since the above post, I have had to take 2 Zyrtecs a day, 2 Singulairs a day, 4 Astilin Nasal Sprays morning and night, a generic of Flonase nasal spray, using my enbellizer every 3-4 hours with Albuterol, 1 Pataday eye drop in each eye and all other meds. Today I woke up with a sharp, throbbing, stabbing pain in my right eye. Since I have had lens implants, due to the steroids I took 8 years ago for a life threatening asthma attack, I was very frightened. My ophthalmologists were out of the office but, their other office worked me in for an appointment. It was better than the ER room. The pain was about every six minutes and would last for a total of a minute. After the eye exam, my eyes are fine....THANK GOD!!!!!!!! I just have to use drops called Real Tear every 3 to 4 hours. All of the meds dried up my sinuses, drainage, stopped my asthma symptoms and in the process dried up my eye completely. A couple of hours after we left the office, the left eye started having the same pain. My regular doctor wanted me to start Augmentin 2000 mgs twice a day on Monday because I've been sick for 8 or 9 days. I got it filled but, I'm trying to cure this episode without antibiotics or prednisone this time. I just wanted to warn everyone concerning meds drying up your eyes. Thanks for helping me post this in the digest. I appreciate your help. Lou
Guest guest
I don't think my eyes have been drier (they have been like that for years), but I have noticed that the amoutn of sleep in them has increased somewhat, since I started taking my steroid inhaler. Last week I was in bed and could feel something inmy eye, which tok ages to get out, but turned out to be just a small bit of sleep, but was v painful. Jenn Tha can tek t'lass outta Yorkshire...! Guest guest
Hi Lou. I am so sorry to hear of your side effects of the steroids. I have many side effects as well. I do have a suggestion for you to check out on a really good cleaning product. It is called LOC from Amway. You can look up amway on google and find a local distributor. It is not specifically made for the dishwasher, but I use it in mine and it does a great job. Also, they have a whole line of low odor cleaning products. Guest guest
I have dry eye also. I went to the opthamologist and was given a new med called Restasis which is very expensive for someone who does not have good supplement insurance. I was also told to get over-the-counter Systane for my eyes. The Restasis made my eyes burn and itch and finally she took me off of it . She said when that came out they thought it was a miracle drug. I was told that I had dry eye from all the medication I was taken. So far the Systane works good for me. When they were testing my eyes, she kept telling me to blink. I discovered that after I blinked I could read something that I could not see before. I just did not think to pass this along until now. I only use it when my eyes bother me. Lou>> Oh Wow, never thought all the meds we take so we can breath could dry out> eye's out! Guest guest
Lou -- I got seriosly sick back in November some kind of virus that just turned into the virus from hell, it triggered my asthma, lost my hearing for a week, then my eyesight went to the doctors very scared, very alone.
