Guest guest
Hi, all -- finally saw my endo. today. We spent a while arguing about this and that.. I told him I don't want to spend the rest of my life with an irregular heartbeat... he listened to my heart for 5 seconds and said I was fine. So I guess I only had a 5-second chance to show him my palpitations and I failed! Told him about the irregular periods and weight gain.. at least I didn't get a nutrition lecture. Anyway, I finally reminded him to examine my thyroid.. he always does this thing where he makes me sip water and feels my neck as I swallow. Turns out that although he stressed my thyroid was not enlarged, he thinks I have a nodule on the left side and wanted me to have an ultrasound. Well I have really crappy insurance and no money, so I asked if it was really necessary and couldn't we just wait until my labs were back (i.e. until he raises my Levoxyl dosage) and he said that was fine. So has anyone else here had a nodule before? Anything to be worried about? I can breathe and swallow fine, I just feel a little pressure there sometimes... Any advice appreciated!
