Re: Doc Visit

hi m,

i can't help but tell you what i think....right or wrong.

i think repeating all those bloods is 99% waste. what on earth does

she think she will find that she did not find the first time?

sometimes i thing docs do this to make their patients think they

are " doing something constructive " . just don't understand it. this

is a bias of mine, i know. so take it with a grain of salt. i hope

i am wrong.

personally, i think you need to try a few things. if the nasid are

upsetting your tummy, call her office and get an rx for celebrex.

you know it is a cox 2 inhibitor and is much easier on the tummy. it

comes in 200mg, the strongest.

inflammation is inflammation, period. there are ways to fight it. i

think you should try an immunomodulator. there is no doubt you have

inflammation, even your sed rate is high. she started you on nothing

for this. i think that is a shame. you need some help and she is

still " investigating " ....come on. sorry, huge bias here. you know

my history. went from doc to doc to doc....blood test to blood test

to blood test. finally i said nuf is anuf. after about the 3rd

visit to a doc like this, i moved on. ya have to get to the bottom

of things at some point.

her comments on enteropathic. i don't remember reading about what

you mentioned, but if you saw it, i believe it. but i think that

kind of response is narrow minded. what she mentioned is in

minority. why does she think you have to have a bowel problem to

have enteropathic arthritis? then why are you sore? there are

treatments for this type of thing...don't understand.

sorry, i know i am blunt, nothing against you, but sometimes i hate

hearing these doc responses and the patient ends up walking out with

nothing in hand but another big bill in hand. i hope i didn't offend

you. don't mean to do that. sometimes docs just aggrevate the living

$xxx out of me.

nuf said,

you be well and i hope you get better soon m!

Jeff, you are so dang sweet to go to bat for me =) Unfortunately,

this time I'M the idiot! I ASKED her to run all the tests again.

I'm the idiot still looking for a reason for this. So let's turn

this around into I'M the one wasting the lab's time and sending

wasteful claims to the insurance company =) I guess I'm not

accepting 'idiopathic' very well . . . and continue to be 'idiot-

pathic' =) What concerns me more is the fact (?) that EN can be a

precursor to something bigger . . . IF that's the case with me, I

want to catch the 'bigger' early, y'know? So I'm probably a little

paranoid as well =) I didn't have time yesterday, but will call her

for something for this pain. I have been on Celebrex before for my

bum knee . . . turns out I had a deformed meniscus, and only surgery

could help that . . . I'll be sure to ask her about it, or anything

else that can help with this 'tendonitis' thing.

I don't know about the enteropathic arthritis . . . only what I read,

and it is associated with IBS-type problems. My plumbing is ok =) so

those type illness have been ruled out. She's a pretty smart

doc . . . I threw all kinds of illness at her that might be

associated and she spit out all the symptoms at me like

lightning . . . granted, they're all supposed to know symptoms . . .

but it impressed me enough that I feel ok with it. She says she's

impressed with MY knowledge regarding EN and its associations, thanks

to this group and my own research . . . so I think we're on the same

page.

So, get mad at me, k? I'm the dingbat! =) Thank you so much for

caring! Don't let me slip up again! I hope your eye is better

today! Sounds like a horrible thing to have. Good for Halloween

though, huh?? You could freak a lot of little kids out!! =) We have

to find the positives, right?? =)

Take very good care!

m,

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, i thought it was the doc's brainy idea...lol. no,

you are not a dingbat, no you ARE NOT an idiot. i did the exact same

thing, a few times over. then one day, a doc sat me down to explain

the facts of life about blood tests to me. lol. besides, i like

going to bat for you. glad you took what i wrote in the right

spirit. i felt bad after i sent that, thinking your would come

gunning for me....hee, hee.

you can still have enteropathic sx's such as arthritis with no bowel

problems. all of this krap is related to autoimmunity, pg, en, ibd

and so forth. you CAN HAVE one, some, all of these issues, there ARE

NO RULES...sorry, don't mean to yell...lol....not yelling..shhhhhh.

so, you get help for the pain. maybe go see a rheumy or did you do

that already? or is this doc a rheumy? can't remember what you might

have said.

what about a teaching medical center? where do you live m?

i have used lidocaine patches if nothing else works. they work. at

least you aren't putting too many meds in your body that way, just

what is absorbed thru the skin via the lidocaine. alternative for

you if you can't get a nsaid to work for you.

you go-girl.
