Hi,

I am not a new member, but I don't have much time to read or respond to all of the mail we get. However, I really need everyone's help now myself.

I was diagnosed over ten years ago with Hashimotos, and other than knowing some of the symptoms, I really am at a loss as far as test results and all the rest goes.

I had quit smoking, gained a lot of weight, but than I started having a lot of problems with my stomach ( got ulcers ), and was diagnosed as having Rheumatoid Arthritis. Than my hair started falling out. I was constantly at the doctor's office, and one time the nurse sounded so irritated and said just what is it THIS time. I was so humiliated, I made my husband at the time go with me to see the doc. Fortunately, I had a very sympathetic doctor ( but little did that help)....I told him that I just didn't feel good, and that something had to be wrong. He said, well do you think you can give me a HINT????.....I can't make a diagnosis without something to go on.....and I said Doc, I don't know what is wrong.....fortunately, my stomach issues got worse, and he referred me to a Digestive doctor, who within two minutes of seeing me, felt my throat, made me swallow, and told me I had a lump on my thyroid...Bingo...I was able to see a specialist, who did a biopsy, and I was told I didn't have cancer, but I did have Hashimotos.

I have been fighting this for quite a while now, and as I got older, the doctor kept decreasing my dosage of Synthroid, since she said the lower your estrogen level is, the less thyroid you need. The family doctor I see now increased my Synthroid, as I told her I do a little bit better on ;75 than on the 50.

Well since than, I have been diagnosed with Cystic Hyperplasia, and when i asked my gynecologist about it, he said that it is/isnt a byproduct of the thyroid disease. I also have developed ulcers again. I had a D and C in February, and another one the end of October. The following week I was put to sleep again to have the endoscopy/colonoscopy done, and I don't feel I have completely recovered from this. I am exhausted....not just tired, but exhausted.

I have an appointment with my doc this week, and I need to know more about the T3....she said that my T4 is always low....she is willing to help me in anyway that she can, but I need as much information as I can get to take to her....I don't even understand about the T3 and T4, so I don't even know what to ask her.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Candace
