Guest guest
Yes,I too remembered the good times..of Walkman...when the news appeared of it,having completed 30yrs. Well,I wouldn't say, " Demise..of the Walkman. " .because now,we have, the less weighing, with no need to carry cassettes..etc,sleek music portable system..and I would say..It's Just a great Transformation...of the Thought process...by Sony of 1979. I had my Walkman till 1991...and when it's,tape-head needed to be replaced,I decided to donate, the Unit, to my dear (late) batchmate,Rohit Yadav, who always wanted to be an Electronic Engineer, from day1..and so got a chance to completely dissect each and every component of the Walkman..and make a new,not so groovy sounding,variant..in his Dblock room..which later on, became a Scientific Exhibit Centre..for the other batchmates.. Although, his neighbour..Karan Balani and Sanjeev Sharma(both '84)..must have cursed me..,as Rohit, would, day in and day out, start playing that worn out, unit..in loud irritating volume, disturbing their peace of mind. May god bless his soul. Good old days.
