Guest guest
~~*~~*~~*~~, All that mess " 293,940 " etc, was suppose to be " THANK YOU " letters from the Charactor Map. Ahhh well, maybe next time,ok? *lol* ~{=0D Last night I typed out a reply for posting and What do I do? " For whatever reason I clickt the back button (L-Upper Corner)and *poof*...gone gone. I am borrowing someone elses pc which makes me nervous. Soooo, figuring that will not happen again, am giving it another shot. First in The News, my PC crashed (may have told evry-1 already) Moving on, saw the Rhuematologist today. He/they are satisfied with healing. Says to me " Gurl, you have had a long trip. Time to unpack and enjoy yourself " . Now!!! my hand. Two possibilities. One of the specialist says " Stroke " wants to schedule me for a MRI of the Brain. The other one suggested before an expensive test (MRI) will schedule a Nerve Contuction Test, it may be just a pinched nerve. A hand/wrist splint was given to me to wear. My hand is flopping down and looks as tho the fingers want to curl down too. The splint helps alot. So, Folks, that's all for teh news...shall return at a later time. Thank you for the eye time. Guest guest
Dear Patti, So that's what those numbers meant! Thanks for the update. How can you type with the fingers and wrist problem? My first thought was stroke too, but I think stroke usually affects more than one small area--usually one side of the body--from those whom I know who have had them. Hope you get the Nerve Contuction Test soon. If it is a stroke, using the hand will help more than not.....I've read that and the sooner you use it the sooner it will recover......but not 'till it is confirmed--and I hope it isn't. Glad the other health issues are improving! Thank your friend for the loan of the pc. If mine crashed I'd be " up the creek " . Have a Happy Day! Guest guest
You ask, how can I type??? Well...I have a Left hand and my right was put in a splint, it was hanging down. I find the splint to be helpful and comfortable. SOoooo as it was B4 and remains the same in typing, I still am " A HuntinPecker " { %o)weg } I never took typing in school. I never used a typewritter or keyboard, till I bought a PC in 1999. Thank you for you response. Much appreciated. I mean THAT is THE REASON I am here. Support...Understanding...Concern for one another. I hope...PRAY I did not have a stroke. Maybe you can tell? But, I have about had enuff. ONE DAY!!! Not Two!!! ONE!!! Dr. on Wed, I think it was the 7th. The Uno-Boot on my right leg was removed and things looked good...CLOSED!!! I'm told this journey is over...AFTER 7 monthes, go home be good. *lol* Thursday, went out and about w/ my friend, had a great time, even felt good. Friday morning... \Flop Flop/ goes my hand *' FizzzzFizzzz goes my Brain. I hope I am not looked at as a whinner or complainer, I am not. I am aware all of us have this shhhhhhoops, I mean...condition. But, I think each and every one of us will feel worn out, tired from the grueling task of going thru this and...I am feeling it now. It is hard to determine ones reactions. Especially here. My background is some of the reason I have such a reaction. Like my friend told me... " Patti you are a very passionate woman. Everything you care about and do is done and felt with such passion " I personally didn't know where she saw this but HEY!!! sounds good to me. *lol* Today, my hand is still numb and hanging down. One of the visual exams the Dr did was have me push down on his hands. I could perform good on that. It was the pushing up...WOW. Folks!!! that is scarey!!! He put his hands on the top side of mine..told me to push up from the wrist. L-hand-Great R-hand- I won't be in the arm wrestling contest at the Biker Meet, that's for sure. I couldn't do anything. And another thing, ?? I can't help you with the paddling thing...with one hand?...we'd be going in circles. *lol* Signing off from Sounding off....Thank you!!!! Everyone. > Dear Patti, > So that's what those numbers meant! > Thanks for the update. How can you type with the fingers and > wrist problem? Guest guest
Dear Patti, Does the dr. have you scheduled for further tests? If he is even saying the word " stroke " you aught to have a test to confirm or rule it out asap. Unless he feels it is so minor that it will recover anyway. I hope he isn't holding back because of insurance or cost. Worrying an wondering is worse than taking action and finding out and getting a plan for recovery underway--at least that is true for me. Patti, if you have had a stroke it seems mild, and maybe the doctor is thinking that since you don't have involvement besides the hand/wrist that it will simply recover and not much can be done for it. I have a cousin who is younger than you who had a bad stroke--required hospitalization. She recovered fully, but needs to monitor her blood to keep it at a certain thickiness. What caused it was dental work of all things. Did you have recent dental work? I never knew there was a connection before. So what is the plan? You need a plan--an appointment to see or talk with the doctor. At least a target date that if the hand/wrist doesn't improve you go back for a consult or a test or something. You need to have something to look forward to. In the meantime, try and keep that great positive attitude! I know you're scared, me too. Have you got someone to check up on you--just to make sure you are ok? If you don't let me know, ok? Love,
