Hi all…A transplant center in another state performed a partial work-up for a potential kidney donor for us recently. They now state they will not accept 100% of the Mcare allowable…they want 100% of charges because that's what they pay for their long distance work-ups. Has this happened to anyone and if so how did you handle it? Just imagine my surprise when I got the call! Thanks & Happy New Year!Sherri SbalbiFinancial CounselorTransplant ServicesBaystate Medical CenterSpringfield, MA fax

We have been looking for the Medicare Regulation thatstates we must reimburse at 100% of Medicare allowable. Diane, orsomeone, can you tell me where we can find it? We have been all overthe CMS website and found nothing specific.

Thanks for your help!

Thishas happened to me before. I faxed them a copy of the Medicare Regulation & restated that 100% was all we could reimburse. I also faxed a copy ofthe Billing Information we sent at the time of testing which also stated thisinformation. They finally accepted the 100%.
