RE: Long distance donor w/u

This has happened to me before. I faxed them a copy of the Medicare Regulation & restated that 100% was all we could reimburse. I also faxed a copy of the Billing Information we sent at the time of testing which also stated this information. They finally accepted the 100%.

Our coordinators also send out a letter w/the orders but we have the same problem of that info not making it to the billers. Invariably we'll get a call and I will re-send the letter, which states in no uncertain terms that the facility is not allowed to bill the donor for any balances after we pay 100% of the Medicare allowable.
