Dear Jim and Group,

Sometimes I think Dr.s can learn a lot by checking out the internet,

especially when faced with a disorder they have little experience

with. Maybe that is what they do while you are waiting for them to

come into the room after the nurse gets your " history " . Humm?

The only way to learn about a disease is to talk to someone who has the same thing. We are the only ones that understand.

Neither of my doctors believe in these groups.

Dear Jim,

That is so true! Before I met others with EN I knew next to nothing

about it and even less about the related disorders. Now I probably

know more about EN than my doctor-- by his own admission. I think

dr.'s are afraid to hear patients criticize them on Groups. But most

of the time patients feel their doctors are doing their best with

limited knowledge. It's not like some doctors have " the cure " and

others don't. Some are simply better than others at " reading the

tealeaves " and figuring out what works. And some, unfortunately just

like the " easy cases " and none of us fit into that category.

I totally agree, they are missing a great opportunity to learn and help people. Thought that was why they became doctors.. (silly me huh?)

I will be the first one to bash a doctor.

Especially when I see someone suffering.

The same way I suffered, and know what the solution is.
