Guest guest
I avoid it like the plague, as I'm severely allergic and have been for over 20 years. In all that time of avoidance, I have not acquired a goiter. Since iodine actually can't be avoided entirely I take antihistamines daily. Iodine is a controversial subject, many people think we all need tons of it daily. OTOH, there are those like me who are allergic, as well as others who don't tolerate supplemental iodine but do fine on a normal diet. There is at least one " authority " who states that the average american diet contains about 10 times the amount of iodine needed for health. How much iodine you need or can tolerate is something you will have to work out for yourself by trial and error. sol Amelia wrote: > Can we safely assume most of us are getting the amount we need??? > This whole thing reminds me of walking in the FOG..wiping my eyes and > not being able to see any better than I did before I wiped my > eyes...GEEZ how does life get so dang complicated?? > > I eat iodized salt on occassion, usually eat sea salt... > what do all of you do about iodine?? > >
