Guest guest
Sherri, Yes, if the person became ESRD Medicare eligible 6/06 the 30-month coordination period would start then...the COB will start with the ESRD Medicare effective date whether it's due to hemo, home hemo, PD, or transplant. You know what happens when you assume so here's my question: We have a potential kidney transplant recip who started home hemo dialysis in 6/06. Would cob work the same as if patient was on PD? Thanks! Guest guest
The Medicare COB period in this case would begin 09-01-06 due to the 3 month rule with hemo. In the case of CAPD, the COB period would begin on 06-01-06. In each case, that is when they would be ESRD Medicare entitled, unless it is a re-entitlement in the case of a previous ESRD event. Hope this helps. Marcia J. Fisher Sr. Transplant Financial Coordinator Michigan Transplant Center This message is confidential, intended for the named recipient(s).
