Guest guest
Dear All, I've been reading Barack Obama's " Audacity of Hope " . I generally steer clear of books written by serving and ex-politicians, but the preface of the book was sheer poetry of the soul, so I picked it up. I am truly impressed by Barack Obama's turn of phrase and his insight into human behaviour. This is not a politician, but a human being ( I didn't mean to say that there was a difference between the two, but on second thoughts, there probably is !) sharing his innermost thoughts, motivations, successes and failures. I must admit to having skipped large portions of text dedicated to discussions on the state of the American economy and the intricacies of American politics. In spite of that, the book is worth reading, for its basic, simple honesty. My father has just finished another book by Barack Obama - " Dreams from my Father " . He says that it is an absolutely gripping personal account of Obama's attempts to come to terms with the various contradictions in his life. I could see that he just could not put the book down. I have yet to read it. ( My father has become absolutely fascinated by Obama after he read the book.) In case you choose to read these books, Happy Reading !!
