"Covering the nose and mouth has helped me in the past. During moderately cold times, I use a scarf. During very cold times, I use a neoprene mask I picked up from REI. They have helped me her in Alaska, hopefully this will help you as well."

I just want to add a word of caution with neoprene. IF anyone is allergic to latex, be careful with neoprene as they are basically kissing cousins. I find myself in the opposite boat in that I am allergic to neoprene but as of yet, latex doesnt cause issues...however, Ive been told to avoid latex as much as possible.

Neoprene makes me break out in hives to the point where I get hives on top of hives and hives in the webbing of my fingers!! I found out the hard way by wearing a new knee brace for 8 hours at work. The back of my knee swelled so bad that I couldnt bend my knee and I couldnt wear long pants for 2 weeks. So...now I have to carefully assess any products containing rubber for neoprene. My skin doesnt even have to touch it directly anymore.

So..if you have latex allergy, be careful with neoprene!!
