Guest guest
Hi there group. I just got a letter from my doctor today. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's in December and due to living in the great land of North Dakota do not have an appointment with an endo until March 10th. Anyways the first time they took my blood my level was 4, which I was told was the low end of normal.I also have a goiter that is sensitive to the touch and is hard to swallow sometimes. Always feels like there is something stuck in my throat. They had then done an ultrasound on my thyroid which showed it was enlarged with nodules. Then they had done a radiouptake scan which showed that I have no hot or cold nodules. The letter that I had gotten today said that my thyroid at the time the blood was taken was hyperthyroid, did not give a level, and there is no presence of antibodies. I am so confused right now. I have at times both hyper and hypo symptoms on and off. My mom had taken me in when I was 12 for an enlarged thyroid and that was 14 years ago. What on earth is going on with my body? I am so afraid that the endo isn't going to help me and I am going to have to go on feeling miserable with this ugly lump in my throat.
