Hi and others from Sue,

You said you are a holistic Vet so maybe you could help. I would like to try the LW Skin care (Gluthithione producing) patch on my 12 yr.old dog since her liver tests were abnormal the last six months and she is developing cataracts. I know Glutathione helps with both conditions.. but what meridian would I place the patch on-- could you describe where on the dog's body that would be?

On humans.. it is 2" below the naval, or on the sternum. ( Or if kids take them off-- they can be placed on bladder 23 on the back or

on liver 3 on the right foot under the sock and shoe.).. Can you tell me where I should place the patch on my dog?

Below is the exciting work that another vet is doing with other LW patches ( Ice wave).. This is now published and on the website www.lifewave.com/sthorpe under the research area at the bottom right. Dr. De Rock is a grad of UC .

(also NOTE: The horse named " Stevie Wonderboy won the Breeders Cup Horse race wearing LW patches.... Cool.)

SUBJECT #3 Lifewave used on horses file

Please Note; Dr DeRock DVM has completed a 140 horse study on the patches with respect to back pain and stiffness. This study has been accepted by the Veterinary Journal for publication.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE LIFEWAVE TECHNOLOGYBy Derock DVMENERGY AND STAMINA INCREASE

When I became involved with LifeWave, I had no idea that it would impact my way of practicing Equine Non-Force Chiropractic and Acupuncture. I was interested in this because this is an entirely new paradigm for helping both humans and animals to access the best body balance for increased energy and stamina. As I am totally familiar with the acupuncture principles and use them daily in my veterinary practice, I was blown away by the incredible effects that these patches actually have in the real world. Horses and people need these patches.

My first case was that of my dearest friend, my 25-year-old mustang, Center. He and I have been through so much together over the last 23 years, and he has had various problems as he has grown older. We have managed everything with acupuncture and other supplements. But because of the patches, he now has an even better life.

After trying the patches on myself, Center was next. I use a point called Bladder 23 in many of my acupuncture treatments on horses, because it is such a powerful point. It is related to the Kidney Meridian from the back Shu-Point system. This point has many effects on arthritic conditions of various sorts. It affects the adrenals and, in my acupuncture experience, it works directly on the Iliopsoas muscle. This muscle is extremely important in the horse as it controls the pelvis and loin. Bladder 23 is an important point that is used frequently for back pain in humans.

To my amazement, this older horse of mine, who doesn’t waste any more energy than absolutely necessary, suddenly started acting like a horse half his age. He was enthusiastic about everything -- even trying to outrun the little cart that I transport horses with from one end of the ranch to the other. The interesting thing was that this burst of energy lasted for about four days after I removed the patches. Since then I have continued to patch him, alternating various points, and have noticed major differences in his general energy level, his ability to get up and down, and in his general attitude. I think this is going to help elderly horses, not to mention people, in a very big way.

The next thing I started doing was using these patches instead of, or in combination with, needles to treat my acupuncture cases. The results were even better than needles alone usually produce. I also noted that horses with chronic tight, sore backs, which need to be treated from time to time with Chiropractic and Acupuncture, responded very well to the patches. Acupuncture works in many ways. One is to increase circulation to areas of the body and to clear “energy blockages.” I set out to try these patches on many horses to measure the effects. The very exciting results of these studies are soon to be published. You will truly be amazed.

I see a huge future in the Performance Horse world for these patches. Just to increase the stamina and energy of, say, a 3-Day-Eventor, would be fabulous, not to mention the benefits to the rider. The placement of these patches, using simple acupuncture principles, may also be able to address specific areas of the body, which could affect other systems. We know that wherever these patches are placed on the body, it can help to balance all the systems, and therefore may help the body to function in the most beneficial capacity.

Horses are incredible athletes, and perform with all their hearts for their riders and owners. They need the benefits of this incredible new technology just like their people do!

DeRock DVMEquine Health Care & Training "For the Heart Connection"

"We have such an opportunity with this company both for helping people and our animals friends. We need to be very careful about what we say about these patches in terms of "performance enhancement," and most especially about what the potential of these patches are in terms of "therapeutic placement" in humans or animals. You must realize that needs to be able to do his work for our future without raising any red flags. We do not want to inflame such organizations as The Racing Commission, AQHA, or any other group involved in horse sports. An energetically balanced horse or human will feel better and, of course, this can affect performance."

DeRock DVMEquine Health Care & Training "For the Heart Connection"Protocol to Conduct a Study:

Only a veterinarian or similar professional are able to do a study with the LifeWave patch. The veterinarian needs to submit the protocol to Dr. Haltiwanger for review and approval. In addition, protocol may be further subject to third-party veterinarian review. The study needs to be publishable and reviewed by peers.

General Information:

We recommend using only one set of patches. White on right, and tan on left. (Horses can have reversed polarity) but we have found two in studies of about 75 horses). If you get no response to the patches, reverse them but this is quite rare. The horse is a very powerful, energetic animal. Think to yourself whether you WANT that EXTRA strength, fire, and Pizzazz! If you are going on a quiet trail ride with a four year-old, you may want to patch at night for recovery rather than during the ride. Horses have no problem with insomnia.

Placement of Patches:

From front to back:

1. Large Intestine 16. While this point is hard to keep on in an event, it is a very good one to use before the event for more strength in the forequarters.

2. Bladder 13. It is a Shu point related to the Lung Energy. It is excellent for Stamina and Energy.

3. Bladder 23. This is especially good for elderly horses, because it helps the strength, stamina and energy of the rear end, which is the engine of the horse. This acupuncture point is a Back Shu point, which relates to Kidney Energy, relating to many body functions, including immune function and bone. You can't go wrong using this point for sustained energy and stamina.

Acupuncture and Meridian Points For HorsesSteve Haltiwanger, M.D., C.C.N. shared with us the placement of LifeWave patches for horses. There are many acupuncture and meridian points but this is a single general description.Three patches are used: a tan and two whites. They are placed directly on the horses hair and experience has shown that they will stay on.

Steve Haltiwanger, M.D., C.C.N.

Location One: Place a white patch on the right side 6" behind the right leg and 6" above the turn in the belly. This is where the cinch attaches.

Location One: Locate the furthest back rib then go directly up to the spine. Place the tan patch 4" down on the left from the spine. Place the white patch 4" down on the right from the spine.
