Guest guest
Has anyone here taken melatonin to aid with sleep? My doctor told me to try it, as when I'm not feeling well I'm often kept up at night. But the bottle said to check with your doctor if you have an autoimmune disease. These articles say it may be counter-indicated for people with endocrine disorders or autoimmune disease: http://www.frontiernet.net/~batory/background.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melatonin As it supposedly stimulates the immune system and can aggravate autoimmune disease. This article says it can raise thyroid levels in perimenopausal and menopausal women: http://thyroid.about.com/library/news/blmelatonin.htm If anyone has any experience with it, I'd be grateful to hear about it.
