Guest guest
Hello Cheryl and every one! We had a Wind Storm here Sunday from Ike and it has knocked out power for over 550,000 homes plus businesses. The winds were 75 miles per hour. It will be 10 days to 2 weeks before the city is back up and running. Schools are all closed, giant trees up rooted and blocking roads etc. In our subdivision we had literally NO WAY OUT. At every intersection a tree was up rooted. The Governor has declared a state of emergency each for the Wind Storm and the price of gas here in Louisville, Kentucky. The PGA Ryder Cup begins today here at Valhalla Golf Course. People had to work round the clock to repair damage on the greens. We have a third shift household. We got to bed at 1:00 or 2:00 in the afternoon. When I got up at 4:30 to use the bathroom, I looked out. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I woke my DH up. I walked outside, down my street for 4 houses from my house. The smell of all the different kinds of trees cracked, leaves everywhere had me wheezing in just moments. I knew I had to get back to safety, my house. A neighbor, who doesn’t understand asthma at all, stops me and says I'm never out of my house and she guesses it's because of the allergy season. Here I am wheezing and trying to explain to her yet again how my asthma is a daily maintenance process, no I don't do outdoor activities at all and Thank You but no thanks for offering to drive me around the streets to see how we are trapped in because she has a cat. Rain starts falling and she wants to stand there until I told her we didn't look like we had enough sense to come in out of the rain. I got home and did my er medicines. I realized how abnormal asthma makes me. Everyone else was out and I just was so stunned and shocked I went out too, to see the damages. We had no damage directly at our house. PRAISE BE TO GOD. I should have thought before I walked down the street. Mood Foods I understand all about the prednisone effects and anxiety, etc. Eat lots of pasta it gives you seretonions (spelling?), turkey and chicken. Popcorn helps too. Check WebMd for a mood food diet. Also honey in hot tea has a chemical reaction that calms and soothes nerves. I would use decaf though it’s suppose to work for caffeine. I'm sending a very special hug to each of you because you are my people. You understand me and my asthma problems. You all love me just like I am. THANK YOU! Now you understand Cheryl why I didn't reply, it didn't have a thing to do with what you said. If you need to talk, email me or someone on this list you feel comfortable having a heart to heart conversation with. May GOD bless each of you and heal you to be strong enough, to take up your cross daily and follow in Jesus' footsteps being guided by THE HOLY SPIRIT to do God's Will with your life. Amen. Take care, Lou
