To,Tejinder,

Ravin,Ragu. .and other Eye surgeons..and EverybodyHello,Found this article in

Times of India today.Kindly click the link below..and wanted to know ur

opinion,dear Eye surgeons..out here,what surgery has been done,on this

patient??Meaning, I am not sure...with the use of Iris of Biosynthetic material

glued to cornea..,much OPTICAL Indication.. .for such an surgery..could be

there..,as then how does one explain..the flow of Aqueous Humour Dynamics..in

the Angle..If,done for Cosmetic purpose..or to Maintain the anatomical

contour(Tectonic) of the growing orbit, then it is indeed a better surgery, than

Evisceration. .and then use of Prosthetic Eye...http:/ /timesofindia.

indiatimes. com/Cities/ Kid_gets_ new_eye_in_ Chennai_hospital /articleshow/

4108748.cmsOn, that note,I find,Dr.Aggarwal and his team,@Chennai, very

innovative.. with their surgical approaches.. THE CHOP-STICK,techniqu e of

placing an foldable IOL..in the sulcus,in a big PCapsular rent..is one very nice

technique..which is very encouraging.,taught in many medical schools round the

world and in Hands-on-Wet labs..in many conferences. Hope, someday soon,I am

able..to master..the technique..without dropping the IOL..in Vitreous

cavity...!!For other non-ophthalmology readers,this article..and discussion..

was to Highlight... AANKH WALE Doctors..aajkal. .kya..kya kaam kar rahein..hain.

..From an 8-10mm..opening. .to remove cataracts..2 decades..ago. .to then moving

on to 5-6mm...for ECCE..,now we have 1-2mm...as the norm, for removal of

cataracts..and that too under TOPICAL Anaesthesias. ..,...and 3mm..spells.

..trouble these days!!Certainly. .all looks..well, , a Small Incision, by the

surgeons..and an BIG LEAP..for better Visual Future...for everyone..Bye.
