Hi , my 14 yr old was just diagnosed with CM and SM but he has

had ADD his entire life. He also has dysgraphia (similar to dyslexia

but involves writing vs. reading). No Tourettes though.

My other son has ADHD but no CM or SM (as far as we know!)

Hi guys...

This is just pure speculation...

There are a huge amount of variations on beliefs regarding ADD/ADHD... the

criteria for diagnosis varies quite a bit

We know how the criteria for CM/Sm diagnosis varies all over the place.

These particular ailments have a lot of potential overlapping symptoms...

physical, cognitive, etc...

In my little chiari brain it stands to reason that a lot more research needs

to be done in these areas and the potential for their relationship to one

another....

I would have to believe that one needs to consider the POTENTIAL correlation

of the diagnoses...

Hi ,

We have 8 children, all with EDS, 6 so far with ACM, all 8

suspected TCS with 2 confirmed and one had surgery last week. All 8

of our children have Tourette's Syndrome. We are in a study at Yale

for Tourette's.

Our neurologist says they have seen multiple families like this

but do not know if ACM irritates the Tourette's symptoms or vice-

versa.

Our 9 yr old always has a ramping up of tics before headache

episodes begin. We have noticed that his tics increase and it's a

matter of hours before he says his head hurts.....the chicken or the

egg??
