Guest guest
Hello nn :-) Glad to meet you! ~ " mscottindygovorg wrote:Hi everyone. I have been greatly enjoying this group since I joined last week. My name is nn and I am 40 years old. I joined this group as I have discovered recently the writings of Louise Hay and wanted to get more reinforcement of her ideas. I have suffered from low-self esteem all of my life and doing the affirmations are very foreign to me. But I am trying to really practice this as I want to be happy and I want to deserve the best things in life and not just always expect the worst to happen. Thanks. Guest guest
A warm welcome to you nn.. =) Glad you found the group! I too have had low self esteem all my life, and Louise Hay's writings have helped me sooooooo much.. It still seems 'weird' to me to put her ideas into practice. That's the main reason I joined this group, to be able to be around others and discuss her ideas and the ideas of other writers as well. Cuz it's just exactly like you said, we want to be happy.. We already deserve the best things in life! Am thinking that as we practice these affirmations, they won't seem so foreign to us.. Sometimes it still seems to me that it's all too simplistic to really work, but I reassured by those who write in that it all does work! So it's all good knowing that we can indeed turn our lives around.. I am 48 years old, live in Nebraska, and have 3 sons ages 22, 20, and 18.. Am still kinda sorta new to the group myself.. well, I guess we all are really, the group is still kinda sorta new.. <grins>.. Am looking forward to getting to know you better, as well as the other newer members in here.. And again, welcome to our group.. =) Blessings, Daph please remind me to remind u about reminding me to send u this reminder to remind me to remind u that i am always your friend.. don't forget! http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Canyon/8467/index.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TogetherWeHeal/ for female survivors of abuse; a safe, comforting and compassionate place ~ where healing happens together. come along and grow with us! wrote: Hi everyone. Guest guest
Hi nn, Welcome! I'm glad to meet you. :-D Doing the affirmations is something new to me as well and I still don't do them like Louise says we should, like mirror work for example. The mirror and I are no longer enemies, but we're not exactly friends either. lol Do what you're comfortable with, and adapt the various tools and techniques to what works for you. And remember, baby steps. You've started on a wonderful journey that does, I'm sorry to say, take a lot of hard work and determination. It's very easy to loose ground if you allow the old stinking thinking to settle in. Bright blessings, ~ Kassandra > Hi everyone. I have been greatly enjoying this group since I joined > last week.
