Hi Lucy,

I've tried SSKI and it doesn't seem to do anything for me . . . but

it has helped others very much. I've just stopped my SSKI because

I'm still growing lumps, so it doesn't make sense to me to take it.

I'm chronic/idiopathic . . . so not sure what the trick, if there is

one, is for me. I have't gained any weight being on it, but I do

understand your fear, as there's a very close history of thyroid

problems in the family. My weight gain came from Prednisone. That

didn't help my lumps either . . . but it has helped greatly for some.

That fatigue is probably the EN . . . I'm 40, with 4 kids, 19, 17, 15

& 15 . . . I used to be able to handle it before the EN, but now the

fatigue renders me immobile.

EN is different for all of us . . . I'm at 11 months now with one

flare up after another . . . and I still haven't figured it all out!

Shins up!

Thank you "m". This is my third flare up of en in 5 years. Each time it seems to last for 6 months to a year. I haven't taken medication before as the first time I didn't even see my doctor for months (just figured it was something weird). The second time I was nursing and didn't want to do medication.

I would like to think, in some ways, that the fatigue is due to the en, but I think everyone does not believe that. The dermatologist didn't think it should affect me.

Hi Lucy,

I for one had tried Pot. Iodide Sol. It was terrible. The taste was

like none I've had before or since. Also it did nothing. My lumps

are livable. I've managed for a long time. But now I believe that a

lot of other issues I have stem from my lumps. I'm looking into

trying to find a way to manage w/ all that. I'm 37. My two girls

are 18 and 19. I'm beginning to think I wore my body out to soon.

LOL. I get so tired from just breathing...I'm not chasing any little

ones. Maybe your little ones keep you going?

I know what you mean, Lucy . . . my first derm doc didn't

mention 'malaise' and fatigue . . . even though it mentions it in

every website you can find on EN. My new derm doc though, was ready

to write me out of work for a week or more if I wanted, knowing what

EN does to a person. I was glad someone finally said something about

the malaise/fatigue part of it.

I've put myself back on the SSKI =) I stopped taking it

Saturday . . . and last night my entire left calf was red and very

sore . . . so I figured maybe the SSKI doesn't stop the EN, but

perhaps makes it less severe?? The legs are less angry today, but

then they always are after a good amount of rest . . . so again, I'm

at the " who the heck knows? " stage.

I'm thinking of trying the coconut oil . . . maybe it will help . . .

maybe it won't . . . who the heck knows!? =) Have a great day,

everyone!
