Hello everyone,

I just wanted to check in, let you know I'm alive. Work is stressful

beyond imagination...but it'll slow down I hope. I just had to inform

three men that they have to leave their families for the rest of the

year and go to Alaska. The good news it's not Iraq, but for most of

them it might as well be. I'm going to have to move out of my

spacious place and move in with a roommate and be confinded to my

room. I don't do well with roommates, heck I can barely get along

with my husband much less a total stranger. All of this because the

military wants to save money. Feh. But I keep telling myself, at

least it's not Iraq. I'm sure the guys over there would love to be in

my shoes, so I'm working on being thankful for my misery instead of

wallowing in the misery and the cruel injustice handed out to me. lol

Thank you for the advice with my friend. We're still working through

his mid-life crisis, but what I think it boils down to is his low

self-esteem and I'm trying to build it up without being preachy, and

was more or less wanting to know how to do that. Trying to force

affirmations or positive thinking on him isn't going to work unless

he wants to hear it - which he doesn't, at this point in time. So

we're riding out the storm together and will see what shore we crash

upon.

I picked up a new book this week, it's sort of a twist on Louise

Hay's change your thinking, change the actions. This one is change

your feelings and you'll change your actions. But this one deals more

with the actual physics of the attraction factor. Plus the author is,

um, a little more blunt and in your face than Hay ever will be -

which can be refreshing. Hay makes you feel like you're wrapped in a

warm blanket, this author is more like your best friend sitting down

with you, handing you a beer and saying, " Look. This is what you're

doing wrong, this is how to fix it. " The book is called " Excuse me,

your life is waiting. " by Lynn Grabhorn. I just started it yesterday

and so far there's a lot of good points in it that Hay missed. When I

get the chance I'll post some of them.

Looking through the messages quickly I saw it was PJ's bday. So Happy

Birthday to you!!! And to everyone else that I've missed.

Hopefully soon I'll be able to read and post more.

(( hugs )) to all.

~ Kassandra
