Guest guest
My pulmonologist schedules me every 4 months if nothing else is going on. In fact I have to go in tomorrow. Since it's St.'s day tomorrow I asked if they would have any green beer but no such luck. Too bad, it alone would have been worth the copay. :-) Tom

Guest guest
Thanks for the warning. On a heavy year, I might get through a six pack on my own. Definitly not more. More likely one on St. Pats and another on my birthday. Add in 2 bottles of wine per year and you begin to get an idea of how much I drink. I manage a drug/alcohol recovery unit in a prison. ANY information we can give our guys about why they should not drink is important. I can add the info about iron as well. Thanks! I'd not heard this. Guest guest
I am very severe, so I tend to be in there every other month for regular checkups and then more if I am having any issues. I think it really depends on the severity of your asthma, but I would think that you would want to go at least every 6 months for a checkup and any med adjustments up or down. Guest guest
I know two people that their bodies product too much iron. Forgot what it's called. Right now the only way they are treating it is to withdraw blood. They do some kind of tests to see how much to take. Be sure to check with your Doctor. > >> > Mike. Guest guest
I took allergy shots for 2 1/2 years, but my dr office here gave me the shots. I had to go get the vacine and bring it here to my dr. After I quit taking the shots, my M.D. said I did not need to see him again that she would take care of me. I do go see him when I think I need his expertise. The last time I saw him he changed my medicine and has really helped me, but he made me mad. He laughed at me, when I was being serious. I think it would depend on your needs and also when he wants you to come in. Everyone is different and you have to decide what is best for you. Guest guest
I think over here teh guideline is that you go see the asthma nurse every year, but more often if your asthma is not under control, or 3 months after your medication has been changed. I go more frequently at the moment since I was only diagnosed just over a year ago, so I have had my medication changed quite a bit. Jenn Tha can tek t'lass outta Yorkshire...! Don't brand me, don't classify me, don't tell me what to wear. I'll be who I want to be, and I'm proud to be me. Subject: Re: Asthma check-upsTo: asthma Date: Wednesday, 18 March, 2009, 3:18 AM I think you are much better going on a regular basis. If you wait till you are having a problem, you are really behind. Going regularly can help you prevent at ;east some acute illness or Er visits.Pat F.
