Guest guest
I finally went and saw a psychiatrist for the first time ever yesterday. I have to admit, I was happy with the appointment. Happy? With a doctor appointment? Yup! Believe it or not. I initially went to get some medication for my ADD. I used to see a neurologist for it, but apparently they don't treat ADD anymore. So, the psychiatrist is putting me on Vyvanse. I used to be on Adderall XR and it seemed to work. The Vyvanse is suppose to last longer during the day. Has anyone been on it? Also, because I seem to be immune to sleeping pills, she is putting me on Seroquel. Antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds haven't helped me sleep either. Has anyone been on Seroquel? I'm just trying to get an idea of how well these meds work. I know that medications work differently on diffrent people, but I wanted to get an idea if anyone has had success with them. I go back in 2 weeks. She wants to start me on Wellbutrin. She knows that I have CFS and believes that I am mildly depressed b/c of my struggle with doctors and CFS. I was so happy that she didn't say " You don't have CFS. You are just depressed. " Oh, and after talking to her, she feels I have ADHD, not just ADD. I had to laugh. You wouldn't think that someone with CFS could be hyper. I'm not " bouncing off the walls " hyper. I am " I speak a mile a minute " hyper. She also believes I have GAD and OCD. I finally feel like I am getting somewhere. I am still saving up to see Dr. Lapp, though.
