Guest guest
JUST SHARING/BORROWED LOVE YOUR FRIEND BREE Your attitude sets the tone for your day This is the day the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it This quotation is taken from the Bible - Psalm 118:24, if you are interested. Its sentiment transcends religion, however. Here we all are, alive for another day. We have two choices - we can be happy, or we can be sad. We can be upbeat, or we can be downtrodden. We can greet the day with enthusiasm, or with dread. Even if things aren't really going your way, or you think it could be better, isn't there a lot to " rejoice and be glad in " ? Your attitude sets the tone for your day. It determines the type of events that your brain and your spirit will concentrate on. Imagine this - early one morning, your alarm rings. You get out of bed, trip on the mat, fall and bruise your knees. You have two choices. You can think to yourself, " Oh boy - it's going to be one of those days! " Then you will notice that the cereal box was empty when you went to have breakfast; that the traffic was terrible on the way to work; and that your co-worker never refills the coffee pot. What a horrible day! On the other hand, you can think to yourself, " Well, that's pretty lucky - another inch and I would have busted my nose on the side of the bed! " What happens then? You have a great English muffin for breakfast instead of your usual cereal; the radio station you listened to on the way to work played all your favorites, and you sang your lungs off; and a co-worker brought in homemade brownies. What a wonderful day! It's the exact same day, with the exact same events - it's all in the way you look at it. It's all in your focus. You can see things in the worst possible light, and drag your vibration down. Or you can be enthusiastic about whatever happens and greet it with a positive attitude, and raise your vibration. Either way you get caught in a spiral effect - the difference is in the direction of the motion. When you focus on the negative, you miss the positive. And when you focus on the positive, the negative tends to fade away. The truly great thing is that it's never too late to choose the way you look at things. Which way do you choose?
