Subject: Q: Neurologic symptoms

Hello everyone,

I have a difficult case and would appreciate any input you have...

One month ago this 39 y.o. female began having twitching in her arms and legs.

It woke her up one night while sleeping. She also felt flu-like, muscle

weakness, and her heart was pounding.

She is an exercise instructor and personal trainer. She was uanble to work

for weeks. She was too tired. The symptoms subsided but then she began

shaking. Her shaking is not present in a.m. on waking but within 15 minutes it

begins and comes and goes throughout her day. She also experiences burning pain

on her right outer forearm, right outer quad, top of feet, and under toes. She

has also had the burning pain on left side.

These symptoms occurred in 2006. She had a flu shot, told son had stomach

cancer, husband almost died from a bout of pneumonia. Pt. symptoms began with

shaking and this lasted 10 weeks. The burning sensation occurred down certain

areas of arms and legs. She had severe muscle weakness and was dragging her

left leg for a short time. She also lost 13 pounds in two weeks.

Pt. has Raynaud's since age of 16. Hypoothroidism dx. 2006. Mono in past.

Findings: ESR 6, MRI scans of brain normal, LS spine minor degenerative

changes, Lyme negative, ANA 11, antiLa 363.

All neurological exams by neurologist were normal.

My thoughts are to rule out Lupus, could a virus be causing these symptoms?

She does not have symptoms of Sjogrens. Heavy metal toxicity? Spinal cord

impingement because of her burning sensations in a dermatome pattern but the

areas she feels the pain in are not consistent with the degenerative disc

regions? Is this a muscle memory problem, depleted ATP from overworking?

My treatment plan: COP's, BTG's, alterative tea tid, Unda 9, 42, 219,

circulatory pizazz, rhus tox

Thank you,
