Guest guest
Hi, I am from Germany and was diagnosed with Hashimoto Thyroiditis in 2006 though I feel that it has been there for quite a while longer. My worst problem is that I can´t almost do any Sports. I get tired very easily and after training just feel terribly dizzy and sick. I wonder if any of you guys have similar experiences? I would be very happy if you could share them with me and maybe give me some hints on how to improve the situation... Greetings, Mirken
Guest guest
Welcome, Mirkin, This sounds adrenal to me, but also could be that you are too hypo or your ferritin is low. Do you have any lab value for TSH, free T3 and Free T4? Are you on any thyroid meds and if so what is the dose? > > Hi, > > I am from Germany and was diagnosed with Hashimoto Thyroiditis in 2006 > though I feel that it has been there for quite a while longer. > > My worst problem is that I can´t almost do any Sports. Guest guest
Hi , thanks for your reply. My English is not so good - what do you mean with it sounds " adrenal " ? Yes, here are my latest lab values from November 9: TSH 0,29, fT3 3,7, fT4 1,85 I am currently on the following medication: L-Thyroxin (that´s the German name) 56,25 and Thybon (which is basically T3, I guess...) of 5 micrograms. --- b53cjf schrieb: > Welcome, Mirkin, > This sounds adrenal to me, but also could be that > you are too hypo or > your ferritin is low. > > Do you have any lab value for TSH, free T3 and Free > T4? Guest guest
Mirkin, Do you have the lab ranges for those values? Different labs have different ranges, also what are the units of measurement? pg/ml, ng/dl, etc. Many of us Hashi's cannot tolerate thyroid meds if our adrenals aren't functioning up to par and/or if our ferritin (a measurement of iron storage) is low. It's important to get a saliva adrenal test (they can be ordered here in the states by anyone) to see your adrenal status. Also get the lab to draw a serum ferritin level. > > Hi , > > thanks for your reply. Guest guest
Dear cindy, thanks so much for your reply. the lab ranges are for fT3 3,5-8,0 and for fT4 0,8-1,8 but I sadly don´t know the units. --- b53cjf schrieb: > Mirkin, > Do you have the lab ranges for those values? > Different labs have > different ranges, also what are the units of > measurement? pg/ml, > ng/dl, etc. > > Many of us Hashi's cannot tolerate thyroid meds if > our adrenals aren't > functioning up to par and/or if our ferritin (a > measurement of iron > storage) is low. > > It's important to get a saliva adrenal test (they > can be ordered here > in the states by anyone) to see your adrenal > status. > > Also get the lab to draw a serum ferritin level. > > > > > > > > Hi , > > > > thanks for your reply. Guest guest
I'm not as experienced as some of the other ladies here, so hopefully some will chime in, but it looks like your fT4 is on the high side, but your fT3 is low, so the fT4 is not converting to fT3 for some reason. Were these labs taken before or after you started meds? The TSH looks low, though. Possible pituitary tumor? Anyone else have ideas? > > > > > > Hi , > > > > > > thanks for your reply. Guest guest
Hi, I´ve started the med in July, 2006. From there on my values jumped up and down and I am still looking for the right dosage. Back in August of this year I started feeling very very bad again. So I went and got a new blood test. My TSH was way high up, over 4, which is high for me. So I increased my medication but I fear I did that too quickly. I felt worse and worse. I then got new blood tests and my docter then prescribed me the mentioned " Thybon " which I think is T3. I have been feeling better since then. My doctor suggested that I might have a problem converting fT4 to fT3 and that may be the reason form my low fT3 and hight fT4 values. But what you said about the adrenal and ferritin tests also sounds logic to me. I will have to get them done! --- b53cjf schrieb: > I'm not as experienced as some of the other ladies > here, so hopefully > some will chime in, but it looks like your fT4 is on > the high side, > but your fT3 is low, so the fT4 is not converting to > fT3 for some reason. > > Were these labs taken before or after you started > meds? > > The TSH looks low, though. Guest guest
Adequate iron stores are necessary for the conversion of T4 to T3. Also, 200mcg of selenium/day has been shown in studies to be helpful for hashi's and reduces the antibodies. > > Hi, > > I´ve started the med in July, 2006.
