Hi, I'm . I've been sick for about 30 years. I can't even remember what

it felt like to feel good. I have many illnesses, Extreme Fibromyalgia, CFS,

Chronic Babesiosis, (which is like lyme disease), chronic Cytomeglavirus (also

called CMV), blood clot, adrenal insuffieiency, IBS, TMJ, osteopenia, occipital

neuritis, migraines, chronic thyroiditis, and actually there's a whole lot more.

I've been through it all over the years, tried just about everything and have a

file cabinet full of test results, doctor, hospital and prescription receipts.

I've also done the Fibromyalgia clinics, alternative medicine. I've spent a

fortune and I'm still extremely ill. I have some good info to share. I will try

to post some soon. I've been just " lurking " as they say for a while. It takes a

lot out of me just to read my e-mail. I can't tolerate being on a computer for

very long, and the " scrolling " makes me dizzy. For everything I know, I've

learned some new things and I am grateful.

When someone asks me how I am my usual response is " hanging in there " . When

they look at my face and I say that, I think that saying speaks for itself.

I also want to comment on the TV commercials for Lyrica. I find it maddening to

see these advertisements. First it makes Fibromyalgia sound like it's no big

deal, then it goes on to show a woman smiling and able to do anything after

their pill magicly made her all better. I tried it, along with a long list of

other drugs that were supposed to help that didn't. In fact for me, Lyrica was

one of the worst. Ever since those commercials came out I've heard comments

from people who seriously believe that I would be cured if I would just take

those pills. I am happy for the fact that with the drug companies marketing

their " Fibromyalgia drugs " on TV that at least the public realizes that it is

real, however the drug companies are also doing us a huge disservice the way the

market the drugs by making the actresses look fine in the first place and then

" all better " after taking their drug. That's not reality.

Wow, someone else with a bunch of conditions. Not the most fun

club to have a membership. The most annoying commercial is the

thin lady talking about gaining weight on Lyrica. Most of the

people I know who take the stuff have gained some weight.

Any questions ask, I'm not shy.

Take care of you, you're important to me.

Big gentle huggles,

Hi, new to the group and wanted to introduce myself and comment.

I've had fibro for about 12 years or so. Was not too bad with the fatigue part

of this

syndrome until about 3 years ago then it along with the pain finally reached the

level

that I had to make the decision to go on disability/ That in itself is an issue

but I manage.

Also have some spinal problems - narrowing & degeneration of some discs but I

have

other spinal pain which has not been diagnosed and for the past 4 years I have

been

dealing with that issue also. Some of that is my fault, at this time I so

distrust doctors

that I really don't want to go through anymore of their nonsense and I try to do

as much

for myself as far as trying to relieve pain/fatigue with diet and natural

substances. Although

I do take Flexoril (sometimes and I can't say I feel it always helps), I also

take a med for sleep.

One of my worst problems is not sleeping(if I do not take sleep meds) due to

pain. After about

an hour every part of my body that touches the mattress feels so sore and

bruised that I wake

up turn over and start the cycle over again.

In reply to , I totally agree with what you said about Lyrica. I have to

turn that commercial

off when I see it also the one for Cymbalta. The drug industry makes it seem

like everything

will be Ok if you only take their drugs. Yes, they detail side effects but still

the message is that

if you only take this new miracle drug your life will be fine. Not so!! I have

tried them all and

had so many problems with side effects or no help from drugs that I stay away as

much as possible.

,

I have mental problems too, like trouble concentrating and lack of memory,

focus, and alertness. I also have muscle tension and fatigue that lasts all day.

I have severe allergies, asthma, and symptoms of candida, and I belive this

causes my chronic fatigue. I haven't been diagnosed with the syndrome yet, but I

have filed for disability too due to my mental problems and other health

conditions, and not being able to hold a job. I'm hoping that my disability will

go through though even though I haven't gotten a doctor to diagnose me with it

yet because I have respiratory problems that are a huge reason why I haven't

been able to work. My chronic fatigue and allergies also makes it very

difficult. I know how it feels to have mental problems; it is one my most

difficult things to deal with. People sometimes think I'm slow or something

because it's hard for me to concentrate, and I forget things, and I'm not that

alert. I hope your disability goes through

for you and I'll be hoping mine goes through as well. In the meantime, I'm

going to try to see about being examined for this syndrome.

I understand brainfog and the torture of allergies. I hope your disability

request goes through the first time.. my fingers are crossed.

This is a hoot! Thanks Chris. I got a big laugh from several people

when I read your acronym's meaning at a meeting.
