Guest guest
Hi - I don't think my original post went thru, so I am re-writing it. if you get it twice, I apologize. I am confused about something I read on our group this morning. Perhaps I did not follow the thread well because I just woke up. But I believe I read that someone said (a moderator ??) that they do not follow Wicca & black magic and please limit sharing on this subject. I wanted to share my feelings on this comment - While I do not follow Wicca either, I do believe there is great misconception about it being black magic. Also, I know there are athiests on this group and Christians as well. I understood our common goal was to be ourselves without offending anyone. If we allow open & unlimited sharing on one religion of choice and limit another, then are we as a group being just to all? I am not a member of any organized religion and yet I am a very spiritual person. My prior e-mail name was " grandhighwitch " which I took from a children's book in humour. However, when I attempted to join several spiritually based groups, I was refused because people's prejudice would not allow them to get past my e-mail name - which was nothing more than a joke on myself. I therefore, changed my e-mail name & was accepted - however, I was still the SAME EXACT person inside. I feel we should either have no discussion of religion of choice or unlimted. Otherwise, I don't feel we are moving in a positve direction. I am comfortable enough with my spirituality that I am interested in hearing how others experience theirs. And if I don't want to - I can just hit the delete key. Joy
Guest guest
Joy, This I can see has been confusing for some and I hope to help the group see what was meant. I'm sure If I'm not speaking right PJ will correct this as she has time. PJ........when she wrote " limit " the use of Wicca was not putting down that particular belief. There is a " limit " on all religious posts weather they be Christian, Buddhist, Wicca.......etc. etc. PJ was not excluding any belief she just wants to keep the focus of the group on affirmations which the group was designed for to begin with. I can't speak for PJ but I believe that she knows as well as we all do that any sort of belief system that is religious can produce arguments and/or hurt feelings that is why the limit. She has never excluded anything totally as far as I know. As far as PJ's 'black magic' comment I think that was just because " as she said she is not familiar with that or Wicca. PJ I'm sure will be on as she finds time to clear this all up. I can imagine she is working. I hope the explanation helps, Susie Hi - I don't think my original post went thru, so I am re-writing it. if you get it twice, I apologize. Guest guest
Hi Susie, I have been thinking all of this through for myself and I am not writing impulsively or with any anger. I am responding not reacting. That being said, I do believe that Wicca WAS singled out and that particular belief system was put down as the post specifically said - I am not comfortable with Wicca or black magic so please limit discussion on this. It did not say, please limit discussion on religion or belief sysetems in general. It was written out of a personal discomfort someone had with someone elses beliefs. I did read quite a bit on Christianity the previous days and no such comment was made. I can understand why the person who shared their belief system and cleary was singled out chose to leave. I am grateful for the support I have received here. However, I need to make the choice for myself to leave as well. I do not feel safe sharing here - I feel if what I share is not the mindset of the majority - it will be frowned upon and that is not how I choose to interact with others. I wish you all peace on your journey, Joy > Joy, > This I can see has been confusing for some and I hope to help the > group see what was meant. > I'm sure If I'm not speaking right PJ will correct this as she has time. > PJ........when she wrote " limit " the use of Wicca was not putting down > that particular belief. Guest guest
Joy, The statement made where PJ said she was not comfortable with that particular belief system is true for PJ and I might add for myself also BUT there have been several times where I was told to limit my " CHRISTIAN " posting and others have been told that too. I think we need to separate PJ's uncomfortableness with Wicca from her limiting any 'religious' talk. I didn't take it when PJ limited the my posts on Christian things as personal. Of course I hope the best for you and have enjoyed your posts. I will respect your decision too. Many hugs, Susie Hi Susie, I have been thinking all of this through for myself and I am not writing impulsively or with any anger. I am responding not reacting.
