He never stated that a child can only recover if on SCD. What he said was that the majority of cases he has seen recover have been on special diet and that is because(my opinion) the majority of autistic children need special diets. Some of you aere acting very defensive about this and i don't think he deserves the hostility when he is everyday taking time to respond to our posts and help our children. Nobody said your child has to be on SCD-you make that decision yourself and nobody said ALL children need it. Perhaps they are in that special 10 or 15 percent. That's wonderful. My 2 cents worth. We were GFCF and switched to SCD and noticed HUGE changes! After reading about the oxylate issue, we decieded to not use nut flowers. Once again we noticed a regression and then huge changes for the good. Our son seems to have a pretty nasty bowel disorder. We finally found a balance with supp. and diet where he has one BM every day and its not pure liquid or constipation! It took a while.
