Guest guest
I posted this on my blog because I just can't go through the crying again to type it all. I know I'll be ok in the end. but the initial shock has to get over. Well i got a 1, 2 punch today at the dtrs. They tested for this mutation on my genes and they found two the test was MTHFR, DNA analysis. The mutations were C677T and A1298C. Each one is different one points to clotting and the other points to heart. Got to love it. They did a lot of blood work and a lot came back fine. They also ran a test called ANA Screen this was to test for autoimmune disorders or your risk for. obviously mine came back positive because we know i have hashimoto's thyroid which swings me from hyper to hypo. But I'm prone to develop other autoimmune disorders i may or may not develop these, but once you have one then it's easily to get another. The ANA screen is a marker for developing of autoimmune disorders. I have a lot to reflect on. Right now i have script for a blood thinning injection shot to take when i travel long distances without a lot of walking. Lovyenox (sp) is what i have a script for. I'm trying to decide which would be better for me. Coumadin screws up my thyroid and i don't need anything screwing it any worse then it already is. But if it's monitored along with the coumadin then maybe it won't screw with me so i need to talk to others that are on both meds and see what they say. Right now i'm to take a baby asprin to help keep from clotting. Oh and get this even on coumadin it won't keep me from clotting again. It lowers the chances but i could clot again. My mind is just overwhelmed right now. I don't know which way to turn. Guest guest
Hi Micki, I was wondering did your doctor say anything to you about Lupus. I don't know for sure but I believe I read some of your markers before. that were C3 and C4 test. I maybe wrong. Amber had Lupus ANA positive when we first found out she had Hashimoto's disease. Her C3 and C4 came back ok so she did not have Lupus we were told. Just trying to help out. I will be thinking of you and stay positive because there's help out there. Sometimes it's ok to just have a good cry because you deserve it. Guest guest
Micki, Thats good about neg for Lupus. I hope this doctor can help you out. Sounds like his really good. Amber takes Levoxyl 100mg and Nexium for her GERD. But today we found out that she has Vitiligo. She will be seeing a Dermatolgist to help with this now. It's all over her back and now starting on her face. My son who's only 11 years old found out about it today with us. His more upset over this then Amber. I don't think that it has hit her yet. I am hoping that they can help her out so it does not get really bad. As far as Amber goes she does not have anything wrong with her Blood clotting. I am trying to get her into Childrens hospital in San Fransico because she is not getting better to us. It's sad because she should be having the time of her life in high school 9th grade this year. Surgery in December for implants because the foot bones have fused together. Oh and the endo says she doing good because the TSH levels are good again. Were working on getting her the help. Just like your working on getting the right doctor to help you. I am happy that this guys seems to know what to do. All the test that's a good sign to me.
