Chester (dx'd with Lymphoma first week of Sept) is now on week 4.5

of the " 3 weeks left to live " pronouncement. He completed 10 days of

Antibiotics and Prednisone. We started him on 1.5 LDN at the end of

the Antibiotics. And we've been weaning him gradually off the

Prednisone. He is now down to 10 mg of Pred every other day. He

will receive one more dose of 10 and then it will drop to 5. After a

week of that he may be off of Pred completely. We did see a day of

lameness and stiff walking as we weaned down from 40 to 20. I

thought it was too big of a drop and have been weaning more gradually

since then. No further episodes--though on the " off days " he does

not seem as energetic and is not as willing to do his walks. Over

all he seems to be feeling good. The lymph nodes are not longer

palpable, even the swollen spleen area is not feeling quite as tight--

it gives a little when I press it. Appetite is good, though he does

not like the Essiac tea poured over his food and it takes him longer

to eat it. Stools continue to be loose when he isn't getting the

Cholocol II. When he started the LDN, we had one night when he

" talked " in his sleep. Otherwise have not noticed any side effects.

He is feeling well enough to play a little with his Aussie terrier

brother and even chase the ball on occasion. I don't have the

feeling that he is 100%, though he does have moments when he seems to

feel really great. My heart soars with hope at those times!

Here is my DMSO question:

Chester has a growth on the outside of his elbow which seems to be

growing larger. At first I thought it was a mole, but it doesn't

look like that anymore. I don't know if it has anything to do with

the lymphoma. It does not seem to bother him at all. I am thinking

about painting it with DMSO and something--but what?--to see if I can

shrink it. I would dilute the DMSO perhaps with CS. But is there

something else I could add to the mix to help the cells to normalize?

Thanks,

Mara

Many people in the past painted such things with iodine and got complete

relief from the growths.

Good going with Chester!

just straight iodine? I have betadine for my horses--could I use

that? Should it be mixed with DMSO?

You can get decolorized iodine at the drug store so it doesn't stain

everything yellow.

I don't know anything about betadine. I only know about iodine for internal

use. There's a type of iodine (in the horse section in our local feed

store) that is used externally, exclusively. It was a stronger form of

iodine, but when they had the strong iodine jerked off the market, this (in

the store) also went down. But--if what you have is the same as that--to be

used externally on horses, then I would say it's the same type of thing that

you could put on your dog. Do not give it orally, just apply externally.

You should probably Google to make sure it is safe, but I'm assuming if it's

safe for a horse it is safe for a dog.

The iodine that they use to use for putting on tumors, fungus, etc, was

regular' iodine that you use to could buy in any drug store--Lugol's iodine.

But I do know there are several forms of iodine, all basically doing the

same thing. So you should be safe--but again, Google to be sure. There WAs

never any need to use DMSO before, as the skin and cells will absorb iodine

without the need for DMSO.

Try feeding Chester the Essiac tea through a turkey baster directly " shot "

into his mouth. I feed my cats Essiac with an eyedropper, colloidal silver

water, too. They line up for their silver water and open their mouths when

they hear the bottle being opened. Chester's a little big for an eye

dropper and the plastic turkey baster would be better if he chomped down on

it...

Hi, Mara:

I'm strictly a FLOR*ESSENCE (essiac tea) user because A. Brusch, MD

and herbalist, worked with Rene Caisse for 20 years in Canada, continually

perfecting the formula with Rene and the Flora company - with 8 herbs, and

cured his own intestinal cancer with it. I have a cup every night made from

bulk... Bulk is less costly.

GAK! sorry......

How do you get it down? I tasted Chester's and, well, um....I don't

think I could begin to drink it.

Did try the turkey baster on Chester. I gave him 2 oz with it and

will give the second 2 oz later on today. He liked is food better

without it, but not sure he'll put up with the baster routine for

vary long. Imagine 70 lbs of Airedale (feeling much better these

days, thank you) being " encouraged " to accept this turkey baster full

of rather vile tasting stuff. If it comes down to a battle, you know

he is going to win....LOL!

Good idea~! Might work for Chester. But the idea of gravied Essiac

My Flor*Essence brand essiac tea tastes delicious. I'm not sure which

Essiac blend your using, but my has no vile taste at all. Wondering what

" brand " you're using there here in NY?

I buy my Flor*Essence from a local n\health distributor for $18.00 for 3 pak

(3 quarts) bulk.

Swanson Health has it at $28.00 and change for the 3 pak bulk Flor*Essence.

Most other Health Food Stores charge too much at $37.00... I like making it

from the bulk. you get shortchanged buying the liquid.
