Guest guest
Dear Unda Group, One of my clients who is seeing a doctor for lyme treatment says it was implied that if they switched to IV antibiotics it would not interfere with gut health. Once an antibiotic is in circulation, whether taken orally or via IV, does it not kill gut bacteria? I know some antibiotics are more effective with different bugs, particularly the more nasty or dysbiotic bugs, but in general, don't antibiotics kill healthy gut flora, period. Is the point that they are less aggressive on the tissues of the GI tract immediately? But by virtue of killing GI flora they would be disrupting the digestive system and the health of GI tissues? I'm just wanting to understand the actions of intravenous antibiotics, not to counter anyone's medical care. Please enlighten me.
