Funny story--we've switched to stainless steel water bottles. Well, I forgot to empty them before going through security at the airport...and you wouldn't believe how alarmed the security guy looked when he saw that I had two steel cannisters of fluid in my carry-on. He was NOT reassured to see that I was just a mom with two kids in tow...He proceeded to put on a pair of latex gloves and go through my entire carry-on (I was not allowed to pull out our water bottles; he told me " Don't touch the bag, ma'am. " )...well, in the end he calmed down when he realized that it really was only water...he walked us to the exit and we went out, quickly drank all our water (it was that or go downstairs to the baggage area where the bathrooms are to dump them out), and went back through...I think the security guy was kind of disappointed. He had almost collared a terrorist!

Bonnie

I keep getting pamphlets in the mail telling me to call my rep. and

ask him to vote NO on the proposition to ban the use BPA (bisphenyl-A)

and I keep screaming at my poor DH every time one comes - " DO THEY

KNOW WHO THEY'VE JUST SENT THIS TO? ARE THEY CRAZY??? " You can better

believe I'm calling my rep - but to ask him to PLEASE vote for banning

BPA!!!

It's amazing to believe that (presumably) the plastics industry has

invested so much money in a campaign to convince us that BPA is, in

fact, " safe " and actually, these pamphlets try to convince a person

that BPA is not only 'safe' but NECESSARY to keep our food supply

safe. WHAT?!?! Consuming vast amounts of canned, plastic-packaged,

or otherwise overly processed food is horrificly bad for our and our

kids' health - BPA or no BPA in the packaging. ARGHH!

We need campaigns for REAL WHOLE unprocessed foods - not campaigns to

save the toxic chemical in the packages!!!

o.k., sorry, just caught me at a time that I was tossing out the

second pamphlet this group has mailed specifically to my name at

home......!!! arrrrgggghhhhh!
