Guest guest
As a non-physician, I found the article useful. It is not precisely an issue for NFP users, though of course it is an issue for women in general. It can be frustrating, as I know from personal experience, to have one's doctor dismiss a description of heavy flow as being insignificant (and my doctor knows that I am a careful observer). As an NFP teacher, I'm not going to be using these words in class, but women do occasionally ask questions about flow and whether it is signficant: this gives us a standardized way to talk about it. Lee Ann Doerflinger Teacher, Archdiocese of Washington Re: Newsweek.com on MSNBC Article: Menstrual Mysteries Menstrual flow is a product of estradiol/progesterone. It's amount can be affected by obstruction of the cervix and decreased by antiprostaglandins, but beyond that, I can't imagine why this is an issue for NFP users. By definition, they will know whether ovulation occurred or not. W. , M.D. FACOG
