, you are not just " hearing things " . I, too, have been hearing these

" popping " sounds from time to time in the front of my neck for about a year

now. It is NOT in the upper spine. Just sometimes, when I turn my head, it

feels like something got caught just momentarily in the front of my neck,

just enough to make a crunch or a pop, like a creaky joint or something.

Sometimes it's hard enough to hurt just for a moment, other times it isn't.

It's got to have something to do with the thyroid, since it isn't the spine.

I mean, what the heck else is in that area?! It's only been since I've had

more swelling of the thyroid, my voice has also been gratier, with pain in

the area of the thyroid that is relieved by the ibuprophen, and all of it

began at the same time within that time frame.

I get the sound and if I miss a dose of thyroid pills (even by an hour) I'll have stabbing pains in my thyroid for the next week. No I don't have any nodules but I have a very swollen thyroid from Hashimotos.
