Guest guest
Hi Virus Not To Blame The following is in this weeks Big Issue in the North No 806, 11 – 17 Jan 2010 New research suggests chronic fatigue syndrome may not be linked to a recently discovered virus. The authors of the study from Imperial College London and Kings College London, say this means that anti-viral drugs may not be an effective treatment. In October 2009 a group of US scientists suggested that the virus XMRV could be linked to CFS, the difficult to diagnose disease affecting around three in 1,000 people. The new research found no evidence of the virus in sufferers. Well do we bombard the Big Issue with details of why it is thought the London study is flawed and who is behind it.
