Guest guest
I have peristomal PG so topicals are not an option. I had limited success with Remicade and Neoral cyclosporine. After a few years, I developed a resistance to the Remicade and it stopped being effective and the Neoral was causing problems for my kidneys. I used Thalidomide for 9 months but it didn't work at all. For some people it works wonders so it was worth a try. Worst side effect of Thalidomide? I ate like an elephant and couldn't figure out why. Latest therapy is Enbrel. I inject myself twice a week. Improvement has been very encouraging. New healthy skin is forming and no smelly pus. I'll keep you PG folks posted.
Guest guest
Dear Holly, Thanks for the update. Glad you are improving! I am going to add this info to our PG forum. I'll get it done tomorrow. Right now I need to take a shower and finish watching a video. ;-) Happy Weekend Everyone! Love,
Guest guest
Yeah, the treatments really do vary. There are injections they can put right into the pg too, but they didn't work for me. I hear more and more about Embrel. It is used for quite a range of issues, even Crohns. Your story is much like mine, trial and error with meds until you find one that works with at least tolerable sx's. Sure glad it is working for you! jeff > I have peristomal PG so topicals are not an option. I had limited > success with Remicade and Neoral cyclosporine.
