My son potty trained while on Valtrex

too. He still asks(he never asked before valtrex) for a pull up to poop (I

think poop is still an issue because it’s always surrounded around pain

and discomfort) in but he doesn’t even wear a pull up at night

anymore. Plus he goes upstairs to the bathroom completely by himself

now. We have not done any chelation yet so I know this was Valtrex.

I also read many other parents post the same thing specifically about potty

training.

As for increasing the dose I don’t

know. We are off at the moment due to resistant yeast. Congrats on

the potty training, that’s huge! -

31. We are using Nizoral.

In addition, my son has been chelating for 5.5 months (DMSA, AC

protocal). He is also on Lupron for lowering testosterone.

My boy has been maing good progress since chelating and Lupron. I

have been reading of Valtrex and success stories sooooo ---

in the spirit of 'not leaving any stone unturned', we added your

Valtrex protocal.

My boy has not regressed at all since being on Valtrex. No fevers --

nothing. Well we noticed a large, red pimple on his head -- buried in

his hair. Is this a detox rash?

Since adding Valtrex, my son is close to being potty-trained! This

was impossible 6 months ago. Now, he can hold it in. We hardly use

pull-ups now (only at night). He still does not indicate (no speech)

when he has to go but we are working on that. However, we made so

much progress in 4 weeks!

Here's my question:

Was the success due to Valtrex or the on-going chelation? Should I

stop the Valtrex or keep going for 90 days? Should I increase to

1000mg/day?

Don't change anything until potty training is completely done. So

much progress in 4 weeks of Valtrex indicates it is probably

helping. Your son is just lucky that he has not had a healing

regression at all. The red pimple may be virus related or it could

just be a mosquito bite or something else unrelated to the Valtrex.

I would stay at 250 mg x 3 for the full 90 days. Quite a few kids

experience no healing regression and still make good progress.

My son was dry before Valtrex, but only because we constantly asked

him if he had to use the potty. He never self-initiated using the

potty. Within 6 hours of our first dose of Valtrex, my son

said " need to go pee pee " and has not had to be reminded since. He

is dry at night now too. So, it may be the Valtrex. It was, most

definitely, in our case.

How do you know about the yeast? Do you actually see the yeast or is it just behavioral? Stacie

I'm confused. Is Diflucan an antibacterial or antifungal? And, is the bad bacteria the yeast?

I don't knowit is bacterial but I strongly suspect it. He does not have his

typical yeast symptoms of nightwakings, loose stools and distended belly. He is

extremel moody, throwing tantrums, kicking his legs, screaming and is itchy in

varoius places sometimes w/rashes. His DAN suspected yeast but given that

Diflucan does not seem to be helping, I am thinking bacteria, which is often

associatd w/aggresiveness/frustration.

Thanks for responding. I just got some oil of oregano and I have

grapefruit seed extract already. I have ultra flora DF for a

probiotic to try to balance the gut. I am interested in reading about

VSL#3 and wonder about rotating the probiotics with the antifungals.

It's easy to do on the weekends but more tricky during the week when

Ronan goes to school--everything thing goes in the sippy cup: enzymes

and minerals--how do I add the other supps and time them 2 hours away

from each other?

He does sound very irritable. My son was on an antibiotic for awhile for a bacterial infection. It did seem to help, but we told our doctor that he was crying for no reason. It definitely helped with what we thought was pain of some kind. My son is totally nonverbal, so lots of guessing and praying. I have had Herpes virus for many years with no outbreaks until after giving birth. Then, I couldn't get rid of the symtoms, which were mainly feeling VERY IRRITABLE. My doctor put me on Valtrex and it took over a week for it to kick in. I take it every day. With these little kids, the Valtrex must be bringing out the viruses, huh? The emails I've read have shown this - rashes, fever, etc. My son tested negative for virals, so we haven't done Valtrex with him. My son, after three months of Ca-EDTA suppositories, actually said a few spontaneous words this week. With any of these treatments - it seems to be very slow in helping. One thing I did recently, was take him off TMG, which had an immediate effect. Someone had written that it is difficult to tolerate if on B12 shots. I was amazed at how much he calmed down. . . . Can you share where (what sites) you got the info on bacteria. My

son has had a similar reaction and it doesn't seem like yeast to
