Dr Parag always has different and interesting ways to look at things. What I

feel about the issues raised:

1. The economy of the war against terror:

I would, any day, put more value and stock on an innocent human's life than any

amount of money or the economic problems associated with a prolonged battle

with the dark and medieval forces of terrorism. In my mind there is no

comparison : Human life versus monetary issue is a no contest.

2. Soldiers who lay down their lives to protect the lives of their countrymen

are martyrs in the true sense of the word, they die in the line of duty,

protecting their country and citizens.

They are the most honourable, gallant and revered men who stand up to the oath

they take when they join the forces.

If their supreme sacrifice protects their countrymen form terror attacks, its a

sacrifice worth it.

I would support a proactive war like approach towards terrorism because I

believe it is sane and wise to kill one Terrorist who could have killed a

hundred unarmed innocent civilians if left alive. If in the process of killing a

couple of Hundred such terrorists, some of our brave soldiers have to make the

supreme sacrifice, it is worth it because that is what a true soldier would want

to do..

Terror strikes:

Recent media reports suggest that Post 9/11, there are no terror attacks in US.

Thanks to active Government surveillance and all that, while

We continue to have Terror strikes in India: 11/7, 26/11, 13/7, 7/9..

My take:

Indians continue to die of terror attacks because of a passive government.

But because of the Active government, Americans ( Marines) too continue to die,

taking the world economy along.

Your take..

Views, opinion, criticisms welcome.
