I'm new also. My name is Marguerita and I live in California. I am 50 yrs

old and am also RH neg and received rhogham probably 10 times, I am also HEP

C positive by PCR, also diagnosed by a Rheumatologist that I have all the

criteria for FIBROMYALGIA, I also have an elevated RHEUMATOID FACTOR. There

is also a test they did that said I'm HLA-B27 Positive, some other kind of

arthritis. My ANA is Positive and other than that, I also have narcolepsy

w/cataplexy.

And, I have 2 special needs kids.

In fact, I got a call from my liver/gastroenterologist specialist yesterday

saying they needed to set up and appt. to discuss treatment options. I'm a

little rattled and scared.

You want my doctor's name and number? I don't know where you are, but you

can also look on the Medical Board website and find a doctor in your area at

the time, and check his credentials and make sure he's BOARD CERTIFIED.

Hi, I'm a newbie...

Hello, My name is Diane. I'll be 57 years old tomorrow and I live in

Kansas but I'm in California with my daughter waiting for her baby

to arrive. Because I had Hep A twice and had received gammagoblin

and I'm Rh negative and received rogam twice I decided to be tested

for Hep antibodies because my exposure to blood products before

1992.

Well, today I was given the results of a blood test I had last week

and I tested positive for Hep C. I literally can't see straight as

I've been on the puter most of this evening looking for information

on this condition.

I was diagnoised with fibromyalgia in 1996 and chronic fatigue

in '97. Now I'm wondering if in fact I really have thoes conditions.

I'm in shock and pretty angry at the medical profession. Now so much

that I contanteced this disease but because with my history no one

ever suggested that I have a test for Hep antibodies. An old friend

of mine who has Hep C suggested I be tested. Even my daughter's

OBGYN poopooed my questions and concerns about wanting a blood test.

Why is the medical community so stuborn?

Well, I apologize for venting. I'm trying to put a lid on my

concerns, upsetness and shock because I don't want to worry my

daughter as her baby was due today and she's pretty uncomfortable.

We did convince her doctor to order a blood draw for her and she had

that done today.

Now, I need to know where to start. I really don't know what kind of

doctor to see while I'm here. I had the blood test done at a prompt

care clinic. I'm planning on being in California until July 8th.

Then its back to Kansas to a town of 4500 people but we do have a

medical center. I really don't know if they are equipped or

experienced to handle this.

Any advice or direction you can give me is appreciated.

Diane
