Maybe it would be possible to have an automatic footer stating

something like that on each post? Is that something that yahoo

caters for?

My stance is that I'm still learning too, and I learn from every single

person, as I hope they learn something from me. The type of experts most of

us become is only qualified by the horrendous experiences that we've been

through, coupled with " survival techniques " , if we're determined to give it

a name. I learned how to dose by reading over many yrs, using lab reports,

listening to experiences, experiences of myself, etc....It's a combo of many

things, and all of it doesn't apply to every single individual, certainly.

Some of it IS guesswork, titrating of dosages, trying to figure out what

MIGHT be best, from person to person, by networking together. There are

many opinions, just like all our bodies are different. I think that one of

the things that brings us together on these sites is the fact that something

ISN'T working right. BTW, I do have someone on this site who emailed me

personally, with very threatening undertones, telling me that I don't have a

medical license and shouldn't be giving any advice to another person,

therefore, they're reporting me to the moderator, and reporting me to Yahoo.

I do not know of ANY sites regarding this disease (maybe I just don't know

yet!) that have a regular on-site doctor who is willing to give up all their

time and money to advising on this disease. There are two more that I'm on

who have a little input from a couple of doctors, but their posting and

advising is very rare. I do not have a local doctor who even knows anything

about this disease (really), let alone knows one shred of anything on how to

treat it. There are a handful in Houston, an hour's drive away, who are

probably good ones, but they would cost me a month's salary to get intially

tested, and probably also, ongoing. Unless there is something IN my

thyroid, like nodules or cancer, that I know that I don't have any business

trying to handle (nor could I---I don't have the proper equipment as a

hospital does!), then I will continue to titrate and choose my meds. I'm

not encouraging anyone else to do so (with a really good doctor), especially

if they don't understand the treatment, the biochemical effects, etc.....I

frankly think that we're all a pretty smart bunch, once we get fairly

educated on the sbjct, because we HAVE to get that way, if we can't get

proper treatment. Of course---everything that we say IS opinion based. I

love to " surf to research " , but I go everywhere I can, once I see one

opinion, I don't just leave it at that. I don't have a gigantic computer

system, so I can't save every single site that I find these things on, so I

put some in My Favorites and save a few in other places. Also, the brain

foggy thing keeps me from remembering where I found something sometimes, so

I can't always refer back to it. We can ALL surf, but the deal here is to

bring it back to the group for sharing, as far as I know. This is what I

love to do, so that someone else won't get as sick as I did, over a period

of yrs. Yes, I am strong on the Armour. It's proving itself to me, more

and more every single day. Little by little, I feel better, but I would

still be where I was, unable to move, dizzy all the time, and all the other

things most of us have experienced, if I'd stuck with the medical forces

that be, in my world. At least I've improved under my own hand, which is

more than I could have said or done, had I kept with the way I WAS going.

Some have wonderful doctors, and I'm glad. It just wasn't so in my case.

I added this clause to our group description: " *Note: Information

is freely exchanged on this board based on patient experiences,

and should not be considered a medical recommendation.

Check information with your doctor or other qualified resource

before acting on it. " Also, Lynda -- I did find a spot where I could

edit the footer, so I added the first line there too. Thanks for the

suggestion! I also added this note to our welcome message.

This should be more than enough.

This person did contact me and has left the group. She felt

was recommending a dosage of Armour way to high for Carla

and shouldn't have done so without a medical license (and yet

she came to that conclusion without having a medical license

either). She was free to disagree with on the board, but

chose to try to shut down the conversation altogether instead.

I stand by what I said before -- people should be able to freely

exchange and disagree about information on this site, as well as

others -- and there's nothing subversive or illegal about it.

Differences of opinion are encouraged -- that's what helps us all

see all sides of the coin before making a choice. It's simply up to

each individual to check their sources and make the best

decision for themselves, especially if they are self-treating. (If I

have a suspicion that someone is purposefully trying to lead

someone else down a path of destruction, that's another matter

-- I will try to intervene.)

Also, and others, please feel free to contact me directly if

you have any concerns about posts in this group. Thanks -
