Why does it take so long for my messages to be posted?

I don't get any of my posts through by email, so I only know that they have worked when somone replies. I don't know why - it has been since yahoo changed their mail. However, my mum also has a yahoo.co.uk, and she does get her own messages to a group through. She also has a spellcheck button when composing messages... I don't.
