Valtrax and Virastop

Hi,

I'm new here. We will be taking the test for an immune panel from immunosciences next week. It will take a while to get the results but I'm beginning to believe that we have big viral issues. So I'm getting ready with background studies.

To start with, can someone explain how one determines what to use- Virastop or Valtrax. Right now I am working on bad yeast and bad bacterial issues along with low sIga with Nystatin and Probiotics (Klaire). I plan to add garlic and oil of oregano to our protocol tonight. Can I add caprilic acid or will it stir up the virus? Actually it was an increase in consumption of coconut oil that led us to a host of issues that resonated with the hypotheses that my child's body is a host for virus(es?).

Thanks so much in advance,

.

Does Stan Kurtz do clinic consultation for virus issues?

Hi ,

In my opinion there is not any test today that really tells if this

therapy is going to work... which in itself is an interesting fact.

My son did not test for ANY titers to viruses we test for today and

he was an obvious responder.

I believe in doing a 45 day trial.

Besides that, an OATs test and an IGG Food Allergy Panel are two

tests that everyone should run.

I would hold off on the natural antifungals until you start your

antiviral therapy. I would start with Valtrex or Olive Leaf Extract

for your first antiviral therapy. Those are the two that we see

work most often. You could always add other ones in after the

healing-regression time frame.

Just my opinion.

Thank you, Stan. Your input and observations are interesting...I'll hold off on the natural antifungals for now.

My post went through twice (I thought this one didn't go through- I apologize for the duplicate posting and wanted to let the parents who responded earlier know that.. :)

Hi ,

And I only suggested that because you were talking about starting

both antivirals with antifungals soon. There is always a chance

that a natural antifungal all by itself might be wonderful... I'm

just sharing my thoughts about what might be best.

Hi Stan:

I just wanted to say that Diflucan by itself even at the finally

upped dose of 100 mg/ day for my son on a 750 mg/ day (250 x 3)

Valtrex was not enough to keep the yeast at bay - it just kept

coming out of nowhere. I have added 2 drops of GSE a day and am

hoping that it is going to be enough for now. My son's recommended

dose is 1000 mg of Valtrex and I still have not gone there yet.

We are on day 29 and the lip sores come and go (controlling with

Lysine thrice a day), the bottom lip swells up on contact with

anything citrus. He had a ringworm type of rash on his inner thigh

that is lightening up after about 10 days, a cold every now and

then. Some coughing. Some sneezing that we see with detox stress but

that could be from overall supplementation. There are some cognitive

gains but I don't know how much to attribute to Valtrex, we have

been adding other interventions too along the way. He is 8.

Do you have any suggestions as to if and when to go higher on the

Valtrex, he seems to be having a hard time even dealing with this.

Hi Gayatri,

I'm not a doctor of course, but typically we see kids over 50 lbs on 100mg or

more of

Diflucan so I think the Diflucan dose was a bit low to start. With signs of

ringworm on the

leg you're probablly dealing with a systemic fungal issue on the leg and I would

consider

talking to your doctor about a more aggressive fungal strategy.

I wouldn't raise the dosage until you have that fungal strategy in place... but

I wouldn't

wait on improving the fungal strategy. It just gives the fungus and virus more

time to

adapt.
