Guest guest
Supposedly the 250 W halogens give off no heat signature. There is a different type of bulb to use in the later stage of growth. Lots of info out there on how to best nurture all stages of geranium growth. Most of the light suppliers are also very helpful with tips on soil, fertilizers and so on. I do know that you do not want to have any kind of motor running in the same area, such as an old refrigerator due to the ozone that a motor can emit. Plants are very sensitive to ozone. Guest guest
Ozonated water is very different from Ozone in the air. The water would put oxygen into the soil, which is a good thing. There are a number of different ways to do this, one is to make sure soil is fluffy and not compacted or water logged. Another is with diluted Hydrogen Peroxide. There are soil amendments in liquid form for doing this as well. Ozone in the air will kill plants, and in sufficient amounts is very bad for people as we know from the ozone alerts that appear in the summer on very hot days. One of the issues is that Ozone can activate other compounds in the air and make them more reactive. This is not to say that ozonated water or other substances are bad. It depends on the form. Many commercial bottled waters are ozonated as a preservative to prevent bacterial and fungal growth. Guest guest
All this talk about geraniums, has me wondering. I'm a lymie who used to have very painful herx responses and may do so again. I often wondered if 'geraniums' would help ease the pain, but also remembered how, back in the day, conversations with geraniums involved could also be arduous and vague, trying to remember what had just been said, etc. Lyme-brain is bad enough, so when I was recently offered some of this particular kind of relief, i said no, not wanting to have my brain fog get any worse! Does anyone have any experience with Lyme issues and geraniums? Be well, Léna > When I lived in California in the 70s the house we lived in had a > basement which was perfect for growing geraniums. Guest guest
Hi Léna, I can tell you this about how well geraniums work for pain. I have as very good friend who has a brain tumor and has been on the strongest narcotics available for her migraines which do not work so she started using medical geraniums and it is the only thing that helps her. It's a sin that we cannot legally use them for medicinal purposes the way Most High [heh] intended. Sandy > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Thanks for the tip. Guest guest
Yes a sin for sure. But there is no profit in what people can grow.for.themselves. Docs don't have the foggiest. I took a YEAR of aggressive chemotherapy and it almost killed.me. The doc gave me some anti-nausea pills which were much worse than useless. They kept me from throwing up; but did nothing for the nausea which greatly increased my sufferitng since throwing up at least gives temporary relief from nausea. Not knowing anyone who had any geraniums, I asked doc to prescribe some THC pills. He is such a Christian (Lutheran) he was horrified by the idea. They had him completely brainwashed. Talk about reefer madness! He finally had a nervous breakdown because so many patients bite the dust on chemo. I had a mesothelioma after that but went to Texas for treatment. He sees me around town and says I have feline DNA because I have 9 lives. LOL Ann >Hi Léna, > >I can tell you this about how well geraniums work for pain. Guest guest
Vaporizers are available here in many of the shops that carry such items. They are not cheap but they are much safer than inhaling smoke. It vaporizes rather than burns the material. Garnet zzekelink@... wrote: > > > In a message dated 6/20/2010 12:52:38 A.M. Guest guest
Hi Sandy, I know that geraniums can be abused and personally know people who appreciated far too many of them and are now permanently vague and no longer very bright, but that also goes for too much sugar, TV, and mass media: we're up to our shoulders in stupid, and I think the method of acquiring stupidity should be a personal right! That said, I know that when there's pain, opiods and such goto the pain and not the thought process or to addiction. Pain centers receive the benefits long before the pleasure centers that can turn on addictions. As for addictions, my liver is not happy with my interest in dark chocolate! It's all moot for me, as I have no contacts these days, but I wish that whatever helps could be available to whoever needs, when the needs arise. I mean, if flouride and apsartame have legal blessings... Be well, Léna > Hi Léna, > > I can tell you this about how well geraniums work for pain. Guest guest
It is legal and available from shops in California. Many states have passed legalization of medical use. Sales in Oakland, CA support the tax base and the city is very friendly about it from what I understand. CNN did a very good special about this that they rerun from time to time. I also agree about acquiring stupidity. There are various strengths and prudence is in order, but then there are many who melt their brains on alcohol. And most of them will tell you they are " functioning well " . No use arguing with their self assessment, and yes it is their choice as long as they don't endanger others. Guest guest
I remember a story in one of the groups about a woman taking a bath with Sun detergent, and her cat knocked a container of alfalfa tablets into the tub and all sorts of visible parasites struggled to the surface of the water.
