Guest guest
Dear Sue, Thanks for that good information on the anti-embolism stockings and how value you are getting by wearing them. I like them too, and I too have noticed less redness and swelling. Mine are white and look like a leotard more than support stockings. Yikkes! I didn't know they were that expensive! I lucked out by finding mine brand new and still in the unopened box for 50c at a yardsale :-) Instructions for laundering and for putting them on properly are included as well as measuring instructions to get the proper size....again I was lucky as I found the perfect size (you must measure calf, theigh and length). Sue, I made your post into a file and added it to our " Natural Treatments " File...as it doesn't require prescription medication..and is essentially a " safe " treatment. Have a Great day! Guest guest
> Do they help with weak knees? Only if the problem is related to or can be improved with improved circulation I would imagine.... the way it was explained to me the purpose of the stockings is to keep the slow leakage of fluid from your veins (i.e., control the edema which is the cause of swelling) and to compress varicose veins - both improving the circulation. I'm not sure but my guess the use to prevent embolisms would be " shrinking " ' the vein size would keep blood clots from " traveling " and doing damage.... Sue - not a doctor or medical professional by any stretch of the imagination!
