Geri,

My advice would be to apply, apply, apply as fast as you can and I advise using a lawyer who does this. I got it on the 2nd try when I hired a lawyer...... I also have many other illnesses and I was told if you have a mental or memory deficit to use that as your primary problem....and go to your Dr's reg'ly and make sure they document your deficits.

We do not travel the path to the soul by leaps and bounds. The path to the soul is a life's worth made up mostly of seemingly trivial acts & events. The devil. as people say, is in the details.

-- [sPAM] Question - long -sorry

I have a question and I am not sure if anyone here can help or if I am just feeling sorry for myself. I have been lurking for a little and thought it was time to introduce myself. My name is Geri and I am 41(for a few more days LOL) I suffer from Hashi's which has not been controlled in a very, very long time. I am now suffering from diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. Not to mention all of the other wonderful problems that come with Hashi's. I was also in a car accident two years ago and underwent surgery for a broken neck which included a bone graft, plate, and screws. More recently they found that due to the head trauma I had developed cataracts which have both been removed. Needless to say it takes everything in me just to get out of bed not to mention take care of my two kids (16 and 6) as a single mom. A friend of mine suggested that I apply for disability since prior to the accident I was a medical transcriptionist and with my neck now and the Hashi's not being controlled well I was not sure. Is there anyone out there who can offer any suggestions/advice? Thanks!
