Here's a diet idea that works for me when I pay attention to it.

Rather than feeling like a failure due to eating a " forbidden " snack, build in a

few calories for less-than-nutritious snack foods. For example, if you have a

modest salad for a meal, then you can afford that cookie without guilt.

In my opinion the point of a diet is not simply to lose weight, but to get us

eating right so the weight will stay off. We can't avoid the goodies forever,

so we have to have a system to deal with these temptations.

I saw my physiatrist today. She said a lot of people are hurting more because of

the impending snowstorm, so that might explain part of your pain as well.
