Guest guest
+Dear Paige, I'm one of those women and have several friends with the tendency. (I remember my first UTI at about age 4!) After years (as a sexually active adult), and various treatments that could top any gyn exam for discomfort, my urologist gave me a prophylactic prescription for Macrodantin. I use one after intercourse (usually with acidophilus for yeast prevention) and only continue if I my symptoms persist. At least that way I have a head start on treatment. Also, I use a lubricant to protect against any chaffing of the skin which could "predispose" to infection. It was worth the inconvenience of taking the antibiotics. The discussion on lubricants has been very interesting. I thought I was crazy years ago when I was sure I ended up with a yeast after every Replens use. I also found Astroglide to cause pretty uncomfortable external irritation on me. God Bless, Rosko "Too often have sins against humanity been justified in the name of 'justice' to women. I have another question. This is a totally different client than the last one I asked about. This is a young married lady in her 20s. She is so prone to UTIs after Intercourse that she has an antibiotic (she can’t remember the name) that she takes every single time after intercourse to prevent a UTI. She would love not to have to do that anymore. Any ideas?
