Guest guest
Hello fellow parents & professionals: My name is & I am a parent of a child with Autism. Over the last 10 years of my life, I have searched for effective interventions for my son. We have tried everything from diet to speech therapy to frequent changes in school placement. Nothing seemed to be extremely effective in increasing Ricky’s language or improving his behavior. Three years ago, I met a Behavior Therapist who began teaching us about ABA and various teaching strategies. Although Ricky continues to be primarily non-verbal, it is amazing the progress he has made- he is doing things that I never thought possible. Naturally, I was elated with Ricky’s progress, but a part of me was very sad that I did not have access to a behavioral therapist when he was younger. With that being said, Ricky’s behavior therapist & I decided that changes needed to be made in our community. After two years of exhausting fundraising and many open & closed doors, we are excited to announce that we will be opening a “best practices” therapy and resource center for families of children with Autism in Clearwater, FL. The reason for my post today is to request your help in getting the word out to families & interested persons in the Tampa Bay area. We will not be accepting new clients until the end of September, and our anticipated grand opening is October 17th. We are currently seeking both full & part time “Tutors” to run skill acquisition programs; therefore, if you know of anyone interested please have them contact myself or at 727-712-8120. We are a not-for-profit organization and rely primarily on fundraising for operating costs. If you have any materials to you no longer use for skill acquisition programming and would like to donate them to our organization, please contact me at 727-712-8120 or via email altsolutions03@... . Thank you so much for your time & commitment to educating others about Autism. Yours truly, Director of Alternative Solutions~ Therapy Center for Children with Autism, Inc. --------------------------------- Start your day with - make it your home page
